1What counts as a cookie here
Besides cookies we use the browser's local storage: the same principle, a small set of values the site puts into the browser and reads on the next visit. Below the word cookie covers both technologies.
2Necessary
Without these the site does not work, so consent is not requested for them. They are not used for advertising and are not shared with ad networks.
- Session token: keeps you signed in between pages and after a reload
- Interface language and the light or dark theme
- The record of your cookie decision so the banner does not ask twice
- Technical security values: protection of the sign in form and against automated requests
3Analytics
They show which public pages are used and where people get stuck. The data is needed in aggregate: how many visits, which pages, from which device. The category is off by default and only turns on with your consent.
4Marketing
They tell which campaign brought a person to the site and keep ads away from people who already signed up. This category is also off until you consent, and refusing it limits nothing in the product.
5How to change your decision
The cookie settings link sits in the footer of every page and opens the same banner where categories can be switched on or off. The decision is stored in your browser, so another browser or a cleared storage means the question is asked again.
The browser can also block and delete cookies entirely. Blocking the necessary ones breaks signing in, because there is nowhere left to keep the session.
6Third party services
Payments are processed by the payment provider, and its own technical cookies apply on the payment screen: without them a transaction cannot be completed safely. Analytics and advertising services are loaded only after consent and are removed together with it.
